I noticed after a fresh boot today that my sms were not getting backed up. I checked my list of process and the app was not on there. When I opened it via the drawer, the status was "idle." I had to click "backup" in order for it to connect, log in, and back up.
I have "auto backup" checked, regular schedule is "never," and incoming schedule is "1 min." All other settings are default.
Am I doing something wrong?
@jberkel commented on GitHub (Oct 9, 2010):
No, it should automatically get started on boot up. however it won't be visible in the list of processes (only while it's running). maybe this is related to #52?
@richyueh commented on GitHub (Oct 9, 2010):
I don't think it's related to that issue, since I can manually start and backup successfully.
I tested a few cases last night and nailed down what I was experiencing. The app does indeed start with the phone, but seems to not back up automatically if I only send a sms.
I send a lot of one-way sms and noticed the original issue when I saw they weren't getting backed up. All other cases - I send something and get a response, or someone sends me something first - work fine.
@jberkel commented on GitHub (Oct 9, 2010):
Regular schedule 'never' means that your outgoing sms won't get backed up unless you receive a message, which will trigger the backup. however on bootup it should also back up your sent messages, even if regular schedule is set to 'never'.
