The paper "SCALE: Automatically Finding RFC Compliance Bugs in DNS Nameservers" included an older version of Trust-DNS in the name server implementations it tested. This was done with the Ferret tool and the test cases it produced. The following issues were previously opened as a result.

Once future work fixes these issues, it would be wise to re-run diffferential testing with an updated version of Hickory DNS, to find further RFC noncompliance issues.
