Caution

Tahoe is not recommended as a virtual machine at this time.
Use Sonoma or Sequoia if you want a supported macOS VM.

Current issues include:

  • Mouse barely works during first boot - this is a known issue in macOS VMs, it is best to use the keyboard to setup until VMware Tools can be installed. Alternatively enable the VNC server for the VM and use a VNC client until the VMware tools are installed.
  • Very poor performance - as a minimum use 4 cores and 8GB memory in the VM
  • No Liquid Glass possible - VMware GPU is incapable of displaying the transparency
  • No audio - this can be fixed please see these pages VoodooHDA (recommended) or AppleHDA

Due to these limitations there will only be limited support from OC4VM for Tahoe.
