Installation Method:

  • Standard
  • Docker

Agent Info (please complete the following information):

  • Agent OS: Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit v2004 (build 19041.1415)

Describe the bug
I want to send alerts to different email addresses. I setup a second alert template in Settings > Alerts Manager. However, the emails were not sent. Then I added a second email address to Settings > Global Settings > Email Alerts > Email Alert Routing and a single email was sent to both addresses.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to Settings > Alerts Manager and add a second alert template.
  2. Add multiple email addresses to the alert.
  3. Add the alert template to a policy and trigger the alert.
  4. An email is not sent to the email addresses. Instead, it seems to be sent per the default email alert template.
  5. Go to Settings > Global Settings > Email Alerts > Email Alert Routing and add a second email address.
  6. Trigger an alert and notice the email is sent to both email addresses in the TO field.

Expected behavior
I expect the email templates be inherited like automation policies. Unfortunately, right click on a site > Assign Alert Template does not have an inheritance policy. When hovering over the email alert column in an asset, it shows it's being overridden by the base policy.

Screenshots
If applicable, add screenshots to help explain your problem.

Additional context
I don't know if the lack of inheritance is the problem, or something else altogether. Either way, it seems as though the only way to add a second email address to alerts sends only 1 email and it is a global setting.
