There is a possibility that the agent is compatible with Windows server 2008 Sp2, we have a legacy system that run on this OS version.

No, the earliest supported version is 2008 R2

Mesh might run but probably won't last long, I have a customer with a legacy 2008 server and we have basically given up monitoring it
