Original GitHub issue: https://github.com/nsupdate-info/nsupdate.info/issues/127
on events, many people "bookmark" by just taking a photo of the (projected) site display.
we could offer a qrcode there, so they get a machine readable url of the site.
@1v3ry commented on GitHub (Jan 3, 2014):
Does it make sense to put QR code on a webpage, which is either displayed on a laptop/desktop, so that you can photograph the code to get to the page on your smartphone/tablet (again), or it's displayed on a smartphone/tablet, so that you can't take a picture it at all?
@ThomasWaldmann commented on GitHub (Jan 4, 2014):
well, read the issue description again. i just noted what happened.
maybe, if people see the qrcode, they would start the qrcode app on their phone instead of making a normal photo with the camera.
@ThomasWaldmann commented on GitHub (Jan 16, 2014):
After thinking about it: I could not commit anything to the codebase, as the codebase is not intended to be in any way limited or specialized to the nsupdate.info service domain.
As I guess adding qrcode image generation code just to keep it generic would be overkill, let's just forget about it.
