What is troubling you?
I really wanted this to work for me, I like the looks and features of the product, but there seems to be some issues be it with docker of the scripts inivolved. After approx 20 hours or installing troubleshooting attempting to resolve the issues. I have given up. with everything I have tried, multiple installs, rpi4, 3b+, and 3b there always seems to be an issue with the database connectivity. I guess I must be doing something wrong as It should be easy.

Clear and concise description of what you're trying to do and what isn't working for you
SQL/mariadb issues. Using 2.5 may try again when you get out to 3. it seems that there are some issues, I have worked with docker some, I have several rpi's running apps in docker as well as a few x86_64 doing the same. I am not going to attach files or anyting to this, I just wanted to let you know that it may not be as easy as your purporting, for people who are novices with docker. Wish you and your group of folks luck in your endevors though, like I said I really wanted this to work for me.

I may be able to help
1- can you share your docker compose and config files?
2- Which db on which machine?
3- What exactly is the problem?

There have been issues about getting it to work on a raspberry pi due to the arm architecture. But people have seemed to have figured out a solution: https://github.com/jc21/nginx-proxy-manager/issues/269#issuecomment-570664490
