Describe the feature you'd like

Currently, the monolith timeout is hardcoded to 5sec (FTR: monolith's default is 120sec). I feel this leads to many unneccessary timeouts when adding bookmarks from slow servers (some home servers, sometimes archive.org).

It would be nice if the timeout could be increased and/or made configurable (like all the crawler timeouts).

Describe the benefits this would bring to existing Karakeep users

Make it easier to bookmark pages from slow servers.

Can the goal of this request already be achieved via other means?

Nope, since the timeout is hardcoded.

Have you searched for an existing open/closed issue?

  • I have searched for existing issues and none cover my fundamental request

Additional context

No response

@Xurbax commented on GitHub (May 24, 2025):

TobiX, where is this 5s timeout located in the codebase?
Edit: ah, that must be it, in apps/workers/crawlerWorker.ts
