Feature Description

Add a first-class Initials field that supports the same appearance modes as Signature (Typed / Draw / Upload), optional saved initials in the user profile, and a signer-side option to fill all initials at once across the document.

Problem
Currently, initials are limited and can’t be drawn/uploaded or saved for reuse. When multiple initials fields exist in a document, signers must fill each one individually, which is slow and error-prone.

Use Case

Desired behavior

Initials field parity with Signature

Appearance modes: Typed / Draw / Upload (image), configurable per org/team and per field.

Resizable placement box in the editor, same as Signature.

Saved initials (optional)

Users can save initials (typed/drawn/uploaded) in Profile.

When an Initials field is focused, default to saved initials with option to re-draw/re-upload.

“Fill all initials at once” (bulk apply)

After the signer fills the first Initials field in a document, prompt:

“Apply these initials to all remaining Initials fields?” (Yes / Only here)

If Yes, auto-fill all remaining Initials fields for that signer using the same appearance (typed/drawn/uploaded) and content.

Allow per-field override afterwards (signer can click an individual field to change it).

If saved initials exist, optionally pre-fill all Initials fields with saved initials on first focus, with a one-click “Apply to all” confirmation.

Audit & compliance

Audit log records appearance type (typed/drawn/uploaded), timestamps, IP/UA, and whether bulk-fill was used.

Final PDF embeds the rendered initials like signatures do.
