realize you forgot to say something, so hit reply all on the message page for the first reply
send the second one
the first one is now gone from my sent folder

Hello @jasonmunro, @marclaporte I have been testing this and I realized that when using reply all to a message instead of remaining in the first thread sent message in sent folder, it creates an other independent message as well see from screenshot:

We have two different sent messages instead of remaining in the first one as the reply all to a message is related as well.
I would like to know if is this issue reported or not? So I may see how to fix. Thanks @jasonmunro , @marclaporte .

Yeah after a deep analysis we(I and @IrAlfred ) understand this:

Each thread in Cypht creates a new message...... This is redundancy....
Like in Gmail all threads on a specific conversation should be in one message for INBOX as well as for SENT folders.
Cypht creates a new message for each new thread on a specific conversation for both INBOX and SENT folders.

I hope @jasonmunro has been expecting that the first message has gone from his sent folder as reported above because of plenty messages and could not realize that there were a thread issue. All about here, threads should be reviewed as well.
