Does this happens every time? What kind of home page loading? SPA ? Refresh? Initial load only?
I don't see the issue on my side, so I would need more infos.
And BTW, if you want to trigger a manual translation prevention, just click on an other tab and come back, it should manually refresh titles. No need to disable/enable the feature.
@kamil-bielecki commented on GitHub (Sep 18, 2025):
It happens when Youtube is opened in freshly opened Brave window.
Switching between tabs is not working. Tried it just a moment ago, and
translations remained the same.

This is really weird.
What happens if you don't open the popup to toggle the feature? Does it never work, even if you keep browsing to other YouTube pages (without refreshing or opening a new tab), for example navigating to channels with translated titles?
The only thing I can think of is permissions. Maybe you haven't granted the extension the site permission. That would explain why titles revert to original when you toggle the feature in the popup: opening the popup can grant "on click" permission to the current tab.
To check, go to 'Manage extensions' > YouTube No Translation > 'Details' and check "Site access".
If those settings are unchecked, that's the cause.

Same problem here, I initially need to switch "Original Titles" to make the plugin work (I think one time after starting the browser is enough). Happens on browser start and on opening (activating?) sleeping tabs; when opening a tab in the background the browser title is translated but when I activate the tab it gets translated. Maybe this will help to find the problem.
Permissions are checked, they are ok.

@sebibasti0815
"when opening a tab in the background the browser title is translated but when I activate the tab it gets translated"
I don't understand, you probably made a mistake in your sentence?
Also, does the issue only concern titles? Audio tracks are original? Descriptions?
@sebibasti0815 commented on GitHub (Sep 19, 2025):
Yes, of course, I made a mistake: when opening a tab in the background the browser title (at youtube this is the video title) is not translated. When I activate the tab (making it the active/foreground trab) the video title AND the browser title get translated.
I never have problems with audio or subtitle language though.
@khattri3141 commented on GitHub (Oct 7, 2025):
maybe if you update the brave version to 1.83.109 the latest it should work.
@YouG-o commented on GitHub (Oct 16, 2025):
Found the problem (let’s say 90% confident)
Fix will be available in next update (v2.16.0) later this week.
If the problem still happens with this version, just reopen the issue.
