Description

Videos fail to load when a video is selected, or when the mini player is active at the corner, but only the first time the page loads. A message is shown: "This content is not available. Try again later". A refresh fix the problem.

Steps to Reproduce (if you noticed a specific pattern)

  1. Go to the YouTube homepage
  2. Click on any video for the first time
  3. See error

Environment

  • Browser: Firefox 147.0.1, Safari 26.2
  • Extension Version: 2.20.0
  • OS: Windows 11, macOS 26.2
  • YouTube Language: Spanish
  • YouTube Account: Logged in

Example Video (Required if the issue happened on a video page)

Video URL: Any video, but this for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lypcC79k-gg

Extension Settings

  • Original Titles
  • Original Descrptions
  • Original Thumbnails
  • Audio language preference : Original
  • Subtitles language preference : (Language if enabled)
  • YouTube Data API v3

Happens on all videos, but only on the first load. Issue started this week, so something must changed on YouTube side.

Never seen this before..
Does it happen only with this extension active? What about trying to open a video in private ?
I'll try it on my Mac tomorrow.

So, i did a bit more of testing and i noticed that the issue is related to the blocking of a new element, caused by extensions like Adguard, Adblocks or PiHole, in any OS or browser. Turns out YNT was not the issue. Sorry about that!
