Spotify Lossless seems to have released for the majority of the world now. It requires version 1.2.67 or above (source). I assume this script uses 1.2.31, as it downloads that version in the install script. Would it be possible to upgrade this script to work on newer versions of Spotify, so that people can download their music using the Lossless quality settings?
@dj-kristis commented on GitHub (Oct 12, 2025):
It looks like the owner of this script hasn't made any changes to this script for a year already. I hope they will come back to adopt lossless...
@calvinhobbes23 commented on GitHub (Oct 22, 2025):
or maybe someone else can submit the PR?
@luka-0614 commented on GitHub (Nov 16, 2025):
Yes! Eventually after years Spotify introduced loss. We've all been waiting for this!
Now Rafiuth can take to work and add the ability to download losslessness. But I have a feeling Spotify won't like it.
It's hard enough because you have to rewrite the entire code.
@xanshiii commented on GitHub (Jan 25, 2026):
in an earlier update, didnt the dev make it so it automatically installs the highest quality?
@expected-ingot commented on GitHub (Jan 25, 2026):
The client is too old to support Lossless afaik
@YukiXXL commented on GitHub (Jan 31, 2026):
Not sure if Manual installation of copying DLLs would work as it was based on lower APIs but it can be tried.
