Steps to reproduce
Environment
10.15.2 (macOS Catalina)
@Lukas-Sturm commented on GitHub (Jan 31, 2020):
That's a security feature of macOS.
Here is a tutorial on how to allow Boost Note https://www.macworld.co.uk/how-to/mac-software/mac-app-unidentified-developer-3669596/
I would not recommend to allow Apps from Anywhere, just the apps you want to run.
@codenift commented on GitHub (Jan 31, 2020):
You are right. I should've known. Thanks.
@MihaelBercic commented on GitHub (May 4, 2020):
Will this be resolved any time soon? I know i can just change what macos thinks of the app, but I'd really appreciate if you guys could get apple to acknowledge this application and you as approved developers.
Just wondering...
Thanks
@Flexo013 commented on GitHub (May 7, 2020):
@MihaelBercic Can you try using the latest installer? Then this issue should not be occurring.

If you do get this error, please post a screenshot in this thread, and any other info you might have. Then we will reopen this issue.
@rohan-git commented on GitHub (May 14, 2020):
For me, it threw the same error. This is from the boost-note-mac.dmg ...
@LiliyaStefanova commented on GitHub (May 14, 2020):
Hello,
Also on Catalina - I tried the latest installer (0.41) and got the same message as @rohan-git .
Because this is not an "unidentified developer" I get no option to run this app in "Security & Privacy".
Any suggestions for a workaround, or if you could re-open the issue would be great, thanks!
@Flexo013 commented on GitHub (May 18, 2020):
Possibly related to: #244
@marcin-piechaczek commented on GitHub (May 31, 2020):
Works fine on macOS Catalina v10.15.5 - just go to Security & Privacy and click on "Open Anyway" on the general tab.
@bc-asingh commented on GitHub (Oct 29, 2020):
Opening from zip file does not work try dmg and then open anyway on catalina.
@Flexo013 commented on GitHub (Dec 12, 2020):
@LiliyaStefanova @rohan-git Does the above solution solve your problem?
@Rokt33r commented on GitHub (Aug 25, 2021):
Closed since now we're notarizing the macOS app.
