Hello my system is as follows:
Gigabyte H67A-D3H-B3, Celeron G530, 4Gb ram, HDD FAT32 25Gb partition SATA, On board Intel HD graphics. AHCI enabled in bios.

I used rufus to make a USB stick (2GB LG) with the images supplied i.e. the ME one and i get the following error
The same error happens when i try to boot for USB DVD while using the 98 lite image burned in a CD.
The pc do not pass this screen. Can you please help?

Don't have this board so I can't reproduce myself, but

Looks like it hangs while it enumerates this PCI Device 1b6f:7023.

That's an Etrontech USB 3.0 controller. Can you try disabling USB 3.0 in BIOS and checking again?

First of all, thank you for the support, the message and the love you are showing to the community.
Indeed it worked and now got stuck in another screen missing a file. (i did the whole procedure from the start with windows me iso with a usb made with rufus) Indeed it is lightning fast!! Good job!!!
I disabled in bios also, azalia and lan. I will upload both pictures. Mobo has the option to support legacy ide if needed.
I cant disable ACPI but only choose between S1 and S3, but i assume you use the "setup /p i" command for setup so it does not matter.

The blue screen showing the file missing is the same error when i try to install windows Me/98 using the method of Omores. (practically manually giving the commands for maxphysmem, himem and also the cregfix.vxd)

Please let me know if you have any ideas of why the file is missing at the end? It seems to be a corruption or a path mismatch that i dont have any control over it.
Many Thanks again!!

Wow, I've never seen that error message before... No clue what could cause
this...

I think I have a H67 board somewhere, I'll try to see what it does

Hello, please let me know if you find any clue.
I tried with IDE/Legacy mode and it does not boot into windows but rather shows the boot up menu (normal/safe mode etc.) and goes into loop
But not the error.
Hope this helps.
Thanks again.

Actually this could be the USB concurrency issue... Can you try booting
with USB flash drive unplugged / USB legacy disabled?

Haha...let's see how deep the rabbit hole goes...
yes i have the same error, no fresh install, just IDE/legacy from bios

FYI i have a second board, an ASUS Z68VPRO-GEN3 with i7, tried that one..managed to boot after many devices disabled in bios and with mouse issues, as well as others in windows
I also tried a 775 Abit IP35 pro..no hassle...
The task is not easy. But with your build you can doit in 2 mins!!
To my understanding it has to do with each motherboard features/bios.
I like this mobo because it has 3 PCI. Imagine if we get this to work, i can have WinME, XP, Vista, 7, 10 in one build and with good performance. I can use Voodoo2, S3, SbLive and GTX970. It would be great. Mobo works fine with PCI-E/PCI gpu booting (and yes i get the same errors having only the HD graphics-so it plays no role)

I can test whatever you need, so please let me know.
Thanks again!
