Tried to install Realtek AC97 Sound drivers - nope, need IE.
I just formatted and installed the non-slim version, as it is faster than trying to install IE from components.
Perhaps an IE removal tool being included would make more sense than stripping it by default, as many games and programs do require that framework to be installed?
Reinstalling non-slim version takes like a minute, but installing IE as a component takes like 10.

The drivers shouldn't require IE if you install them via device manager 🤔

That being said - "micro" ISO is exactly that, it is meant for hobbyists who know what they're getting themselves into and just want a really nice, lean system - essentially it's what I want for myself for installing onto my retro machines. That probably will not change any time soon, I'm sorry to say :(

You can also re-add IE using the Windows Setup tab in the add/remove programs menu courtesy of 98Lite, that should take less than 10 minutes, I think?

Yeah, I realized that after. Much faster from Add / Remove than a full-blown setup.
