Describe the feature you'd like to see added
https://www.kiddle.co/ is a kid-version start page that defaults to a Google 'safe browsing' setting. It also integrates with wikipedia to show their results on top, and includes large image thumbnails along with the results. Is there any way to include some of these features into Whoogle? I already use Whoogle as a default seach engine, but a kid-version would be a great add-on for the younger searchers.
@Don-Swanson commented on GitHub (Sep 21, 2025):
@rafny I Like the idea, but would like to get more info from you.
What in particular would you hope to gain by implementing features from Kiddle into Whoogle?
Can you provide a list of prioritized features you would like to see added?
@rafny commented on GitHub (Sep 23, 2025):
The biggest gain would be a filtered search that is appropriate for children. It would allow parents to allow their children to browse with Whoogle, instead of a kid-secure version.
In terms of feature, copying the Kiddle results would be enough. I suppose maybe one day Whoogle would expand to crawl other search engines, and at that point you'd be able to make a search playlist to get results from and make one that is kid safe. But I think crawling Kiddle, or other child search would be enough.
