Additional context
i commented on the closed ticket #821 with this comment: https://github.com/benbusby/whoogle-search/issues/821#issuecomment-1213191048. I can't open that ticket unfortunately.
little over a week ago i removed my whoogle search from my browser and added the https://IP-ADDRESS:PORT/ as a search engine. So far i haven't gotten the error. I too was using a reverse proxy (traefik instead of nginx) and firefox.
Usually i got about 3-4 errors per day while using Whoogle via https://domain.com
