I'm aware that this is a duplicate, but I want to suggest Qwant Maps as an alternative for Google Maps.
@0xspade commented on GitHub (Mar 22, 2022):
At least an option to change Google Maps if an environment config is not set.
@Aikatsui commented on GitHub (Jun 27, 2022):
that's not good either. :(
you can use openstreetmaps
@DUOLabs333 commented on GitHub (Jun 27, 2022):
Openstreetmaps would need to be a drop-in replacement, as in, you can change just the domain, and it will still work.
@0xspade commented on GitHub (Aug 14, 2022):
I believe that Qwant Maps is based on OpenStreetMaps
@bigc0127 commented on GitHub (Jan 21, 2023):
What about here maps?
@Don-Swanson commented on GitHub (Sep 15, 2025):
This has come up a few times before. Neither Quant Maps nor OpenStreetMap provide 1-to-1 link parity between Google Maps and their service, so it unfortunately isn't a viable alternative. There would need to be development of a separate "OSM link conversion" tool for the app, which would need to be separate from Whoogle.
If you're meaning just changing the "Maps" button to take you to OSM instead of Google Maps, that's technically doable, but would be confusing from a UX perspective (since direction and business location links in search results would still go to G Maps).
