Describe the bug
When shopping tab is clicked, two headers (logo and search bar) are displayed instead of the usual header. Plus, the whole page for shopping is in a expanded mobile view but not in a desktop view.
@benbusby commented on GitHub (Oct 25, 2020):
While looking into this issue, I realized the shopping tab actually may need it's own separate filtering step, as there's a few things wrong with it.
Beyond just the styling issues -- the double header, missing
max widthandmargin: 0 autoproperties, etc -- a majority of the results link to Google adclick redirects (i.e.google.com/aclk?...) and don't contain any immediately discernible parameter for determining the true URL of the intended page. I pushed a hotfix to remove all links to the shopping tab temporarily until this can be addressed more thoroughly.@timknowlden commented on GitHub (Feb 4, 2023):
Hi, is there any timeframe to bringing back the shopping tab, its the only reason I have to use googles website sometimes.
@Don-Swanson commented on GitHub (Oct 4, 2025):
Given how complex the Google Shopping search has become and how variable it is from search to search, there doesn't appear to be a feasible way to bring this feature back.
