SPR doesn't respond to ping by default, but it is useful when troubleshooting a network to be able to test if your first hop is working. It would be fine if this is restricted to the same group(s) that can SSH in.

Thanks! This was added in 0.2.23. It is on during setup now and can be turned on later. We also added mdns publishing support for easier discovery
