Since a few days I can't login with my credentials (plaintext with user and pw on imap.gmail.com:993). Any solution on this?

Hi. Yes, you can to generate application password : https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833?hl=fr
But it's better if sms-backup-plus have update

IF one turns ON 2-Step-Verification for a GMail account, just to be able to use an App Password [for SMS-BACKUP-PLUS], then how does this 2-Step-Verification effect the account when retrieving mail?

E.g. I do NOT want to have to Verify in my Phone every time I let Thunderbird (which is set to use OAuth2) poll for new mails.
