I have 2 phones. On one, I configured the IMAP settings for my Gmail account, and it works as expected. On the other phone, when I select "Custom IMAP server", all IMAP settings are greyed out, so I cannot configure them.
@kurahaupo commented on GitHub (Apr 26, 2020):
I have to admit I'm quite puzzled by this.
While I investigate, please upgrade to beta-release of the version (1.6) and let me know if that fixes the problem.
@chromotechnotramp commented on GitHub (Jul 2, 2020):
First install today went smoothly on phone including setting of custom IMAP (gmail server). However my newly created calendar was not listed. As an experiment I created several calendars with varying security and sharing settings but still no luck with detection even after restarting phone.
After reinstalling SMS Backup+ as next test, custom IMAP settings are greyed out.
Hmmm!
Android 6.0.1
Samsung S5
SMS Backup+ version 1.5.11
Will try Beta test...
@chromotechnotramp commented on GitHub (Jul 2, 2020):
can confirm working in beta 2 as clean install, as update to 1.5.11 password was not being stored. I have not tried reinstalling and would be a couple of days before am able.
Android 6.0.1
Samsung S5
SMS Backup+ version 1.5.11 to 1.6.0-BETA2

Something worth checking…
Calendar access requires XOAUTH separate from the IMAP login; logging the phone into the account, such as via Chrome or the Email client.
(If that doesn't work, some folk find that logging using Firefox helps, though it's unclear why that makes a difference.)
