I've been using this great app for a few months, to back-up my SMSes to my Google Apps mail account, which has been working fine for quite a while. All my SMSes are there.
I had to reset my phone today and restored it to its state a phone months ago (using Nandroid). I then downloaded the app and did a 'Restore', and it was reported that all my SMS messages in my Gmail had been restored (with some dupes removed - the messages from before my Nandroid phone back-up).
However, I can't see any of the newer messages in either my stock Messaging application, or in Handcent SMS that I also use. When I tried to restore again, the app went through all my messages and said that they were all dupes. So it's acting like the messages have been restored... but I can't see them.
Do I maybe need to flush some kind of cache or something so I can see the restored SMSes?
@jberkel commented on GitHub (Oct 14, 2010):
it should happen automatically, but i can add a manual rethread option if that helps
@swordvish commented on GitHub (Oct 20, 2010):
i've got the same issue. it says loads of messages are dupes but they dont show up
@natts1 commented on GitHub (Oct 20, 2010):
If you could add a manual rethread option, that would be great.
I've now had some but not all of the old messages showing up, and they're not ordered correctly.
@PaulEvo commented on GitHub (Feb 4, 2011):
I deleted my SMS messages and then tried to restore. The app showed that 1067 items were restored but nothing showed up. When I repeated the process, the restore process showed 0 restored (1067 dups). So, it seems that the messages are there, but just not showing up. I am using an HTC Evo with the Sense UI. I don't know if this makes any difference, but GoSMS is also installed which wraps around, but does not replace, the stock messaging app. Any ideas? Thanks.
@PaulEvo commented on GitHub (Feb 4, 2011):
One more thing I forgot to mention. I only restored SMS messages, not the call log.
@rongangte commented on GitHub (May 12, 2011):
I have a similar issue.
The Backup works real nice, but the Restoration part is not working.
I tried restoring all the messages (~3000) and after the whole restoration process was done - out of those, only ~500 are restored and the rest are labelled "dup".
And I see only the ~500 messages in my Inbox.
I would like you to provide a fix to that issue.
I use a Samsung Galaxy 3 (GT-I5801).
Thanks.
@jberkel commented on GitHub (May 12, 2011):
i can add an option to disable duplication checking, maybe that helps. is this trying to restore on a "clean" phone?
@rongangte commented on GitHub (May 12, 2011):
Yep.. trynna restore on a clean phone; ie after I flash a new ROM.
