My sms and call log has not backed up since Aug 27. I've tried re installing it, but that doesn't work. what do i do now? Is it required to have gps on while using this app?

You might like to try MyBackup (free, not pro) - among other it can backup not only SMS and possibly MMS and contacts. The best of all, it's not limited to cloud, but you can save the backups on SD card too - avoiding glitches on this softwares part in cloud servers, which I'd bet over the app on phone from these problems. Even installed app .apk's can be selected, as well as system settings, etc. If user wants.
When making backup on SD card it's even better if you don't move MyBackup install on SD card and switch a dedicated backup SD card instead of your regular one when you want to make or restore a backup. That way your backup is safer than in cloud even!
