Installed SMS Backup+ 1.5.5 to Android phone 4.2.2.

04-08 02:10 Backup requested (manual)
04-08 02:10 Starting backup (MANUAL)
04-08 02:10 Backing up (99 SMS, 0 MMS, 16 call log)
04-08 02:10 Using config: BackupConfig{imap=BackupImapStore{uri=imap+ssl+://xoauth2:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX@imap.gmail.com:993}, skip=false, currentTry=0, maxItemsPerSync=-1, groupToBackup=ContactGroup{_id=-1, type=EVERYBODY}, backupType=MANUAL, debug=true, typesToBackup=[SMS, MMS, CALLLOG]}
04-08 02:10 General error: Unable to connect (exception: com.fsck.k9.mail.MessagingException: Unable to connect, underlying=java.net.ConnectException: failed to connect to imap.gmail.com/2607:f8b0:400e:c02::6d (port 993) after 30000ms: isConnected failed: ENETUNREACH (Network is unreachable))
04-08 02:10 Backup finished

Why is it saying that network is unreachable? I've got IMAP enabled in my gmail account. I can check my Gmail emails in the gmail app, both on the phone and on my laptop.
What is wrong? How can I fix this?

I have the same problem although it sometimes works.
So far not been able to detect what makes the difference.
Tried uninstall and reinstall but problem persists.
My phone is a Huawei Ascend G700-U10 with Android 4.2.1
Anyone? Thanks in advance!

The plot thickens...

So I went to revoke SMS backup in "Authorized Access to your Google Account" and SMS Backup is not listed there.

OK so SMS Backup was not listed specifically in the "Authorized Access to your Google Account" section, but my Phone was. So I revoked that, and then signed in again when prompted by Android.

All good for now...

Hope this helps someone else.

I have a feeling that this is not the app, but something to do with the type of API that is being used (I haven't a clue) because other apps where not connecting, strange errors, acting funny, etc... and I haven't seen any of those yet either.

But it has only been 5 min.

I switched from using this app to using IFTTT app. With IFTTT, all incoming
and outgoing texts are automatically added to Google Spreadsheets. It's set
it and forget it.

Nice idea, but for me having them show as emails is very handy for
searching back along, business stuff. Can ifttt do then to emails? And the
call log?

IFTTT is powerful stuff! And you know, it's also easy to use for simple
people like me. And, that's not all. It's free! (c:

Sweet, thanks for that, I use ifttt for other stuff, but it was in its
early days and I never went back, so this should not be a leap!

Yes, i too have used IFTTT since it was a baby. These Android channels are
new to IFTTT. Enjoy!

Hi, I'm the one who recommended IFTTT for backing up SMS messages. I no
longer can give it my recommendation. It doesn't work on all my messages.
The Google Spreadsheet it creates is incomplete. I'll look for another app.
