It would be great if it was possible to also backup Facebook messages.
@Yehonal commented on GitHub (Nov 7, 2014):
i join the request :)
often facebook deletes old conversations, so would be nice to backup in our more trusted gmail
@jberkel commented on GitHub (Nov 21, 2014):
sorry!

@stp-ip commented on GitHub (Nov 21, 2014):
@jberkel what about a refocus as Backup2Mail thus providing the basic method to structure messages as mails and backing them up to an imap server? Additionally the various features could be provided as plugins such as SMS, WhatsApp, Call Log, MMS, Facebook etc.. #thought
@jberkel commented on GitHub (Nov 21, 2014):
yes, a modular system would be the way forward, so other people can write plugins. but i'm not going to start it :)
@stp-ip commented on GitHub (Nov 21, 2014):
@jberkel that's unfortunate. If you do, you have my +1. :P
@Yehonal commented on GitHub (Nov 21, 2014):
"The settings screen makes this obvious, there are just too many things to configure. If anything features should be removed at this point, not added. A more focussed product would be easier to maintain and use."
the nice way would to remove whatsapp and call logs adding then ( and focusing on ) a "plugin system". In this way we can add support for any kind of messenger system ...
You can receive more interest from people/devs and give a fresh wind to your project. But it requires also to change the entire app name at this point ^^
