Use the old portable
userdirectory if it exists (in the app directory), otherwise ask SDL to return a platform specific standard user directory. It should work on macOS too, but I'm not sure :p🔄 This issue represents a GitHub Pull Request. It cannot be merged through Gitea due to API limitations.
