This is a Japanese environment.

As mentioned, I tried reproducing this without success.
However, I have an English version of Windows. Is it possible that the names above are not made of ASCII characters but rather Japanese graphemes (which I think are called kanji but I'm not sure, sorry)?

There are no kanji characters in the folder names.
They are all English characters.

For some reason it seems unable to read anything beyond the comma.
