Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I added a free-form text Metadata to a document and entered '2021-04-12' as the appropriate date. I also added a date-type and entered the same date in the appropriate format.

Searching for 2021 does not bring up that document.

Moreover, there does not appear to be a way to search by date itself.

Describe the solution you'd like
Searching should also search metadata. There is currently no way to filter by this metadata.
