Current Behavior

After a reinstallation of any VPS, on some enviroments, the disk resize times out, which will result in failed installation of the vps.

Expected Behavior

After a reinstallation of any VPS, on any enviroment, the disk resize does work and does not timeout.

Steps to Reproduce

  • get an enviroment which has this problem (does not seem to be a problem everywhere)
  • Reinstall any VPS via convoy dashboard.

Screenshots

Proxmox OS Version

8.1.4

Operating System

Debian 12.4.0

Browser

Brave latest

Additional Context

How we found out:

  • If you would build in a timeout, i.e. wait 5 seconds after vps creation with the resize, it would no longer time out and work!

Panel Version

4.2.1-rc.1

Error Logs

No response

Is there an existing issue for this?

  • I have searched the existing issues before opening this issue.
  • I have checked in the Discord server and believe this is a bug with the software, and not a configuration issue with my specific system.

@virtualized-human commented on GitHub (Feb 24, 2024):

this issue seems to be BTRFS related only atm. Idk why it is like that, but with ZFS i didnt had any of that issues. its wierd anyway. Because with manual curl calls the resize works and also after the first resize convoy is able to resize it. also in reality, the resize is made done, bcs if i do run "qm rescan" to rescan for disk changes, it automatically detects the new target size. Since i think its more Proxmox related, i would forward it to proxmox. A sleep timer bevore disk resize changes nothing.
