Additional context
This may be an issue with YT-DLP if it's being used to make this app work. I've used another app (SpotDL) and it was failing due to issues with YT-DLP too, but I don't know what exactly the issue is or how to fix it.
@rje0475 commented on GitHub (Aug 7, 2025):
Hope there is a solution soon I have the same problem. Thanks in advance.
@KissTheCook-mp3 commented on GitHub (Aug 9, 2025):
I need a solution as well...
@Audioout commented on GitHub (Aug 9, 2025):
Same. Thought I could sign out and sign back into Spotify maybe and now it won't let me add my Spotify account. Says login failed wrong username or password but I tested them on the Spotify site and they work fine so...
Seems to be a similar issue going around from time to time and I haven't seen a single for sure fix for this. Does that mean that that's the end for OntheSpot for me and it will never actually be fixed?
@kitin commented on GitHub (Aug 9, 2025):
Yes, same problem. It seems that Spotify has changed something.
@Audioout It sounds so dramatic ) Maybe it's the end for you, but the rest of us are waiting for a decision )
@kots727 commented on GitHub (Aug 9, 2025):
You should upload your logs, in About. I'm not a contributor but I think it would help figure out what is causing it to fail.
@kitin commented on GitHub (Aug 9, 2025):
Awesome — it works in the new version!
@rje0475 commented on GitHub (Aug 12, 2025):
What new version? I use the win ffm version. Please explain
@tccheng05 commented on GitHub (Aug 18, 2025):
Been getting the same issue. Running the latest version of onthespot on Mac OS Sequoia 15.6
all downloads fail
@andykelk commented on GitHub (Aug 22, 2025):
Looks like it's related to this issue in librespot: https://github.com/librespot-org/librespot/issues/1527
@Bobthe3 commented on GitHub (Sep 16, 2025):
has this issue been fixed. the lastest version release was from March of 2 years ago. Has anyone found a workaround or another software with similar abilities.
Love
@pxrtypo1sxn commented on GitHub (Nov 14, 2025):
