Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?

Hi,
I set up a new host name for a host that only has IPv4 connectivity right now, but since I did the initial setup from a IPv6 box, the host now has A and AAAA records and I can't delete just the AAAA record... My current workaround: Set IPv6 record to ::
(This might be related to #129)
@ThomasWaldmann commented on GitHub (Jan 13, 2014):
yeah, deletion of A / AAAA records is not really exposed on the UI / API yet, but internally there is code for it.
@ThomasWaldmann commented on GitHub (Jan 16, 2014):
I am not sure any more that this is related to offline mode.
But I am considering that if someone sends an update with myip=0.0.0.0 or myip=:: that this will delete the A or AAAA record (just empty is not enough as we need to determine whether A or AAAA is meant).
Hmm, myip= (completely empty) could mean "kill both A and AAAA record".
@ThomasWaldmann commented on GitHub (Jan 16, 2014):
Alternatively (and definitely less dirty than using in-band signalling with special values) we could implement an additional deletion api at /nic/delete (so /nic/update is really just updating).
Potentially, it could delete any given record type (maybe even multiple at once?) and would not be limited to A or AAAA.
@elnappo commented on GitHub (Jan 16, 2014):
i think you should be able to delete record. for the possibility to delete a A or AAAA record which is no longer in use and to set a host to "offline". Maybe when an host is set to not available use this "offline" feature to delete both records? In this case "offline" and "available" are the same.

should be fixed by
36c3c8d314andd195bba4d0- soon also available on nsupdate.info site.I added a /nic/delete api (very similar to /nic/update except that it deletes the record) and a "Delete" button to the host view. No inband signalling. \o/
