Describe the solution you'd like

I would like the ability to pass in an email address and password instead of using the default 'admin@example.com' and having to change on first login.
Ability to pass in a hostname (or config options) at run time that would create a proxy host (or another type of supported host such as streams)

Describe alternatives you've considered
I can probably change the email address directly in the db after npm is initialized, but I was looking for a cleaner, supported solution.

Additional context
I plan on using npm as part of an automated solution to set up client application instances. More automated setup and configuration of npm at runtime will make things much easier.
