Related to https://github.com/NginxProxyManager/nginx-proxy-manager/issues/3548 probably it would be a good idea, to abandon the "404 Hosts" and incorporating it in "Redirection Hosts" with the possibility specifying return codes 4XX and 5XX and custom pages for the 4XX and 5XX errors in form of some simple html snippets.
