This is a followzp from https://github.com/jc21/nginx-proxy-manager/issues/1537#issuecomment-961153602 ..
When you click "Renew now" in the UI on SSL Certs via Let's encrypt then the systen also does a "random waiting time" ... see logs in referenced post. The UI is not waiting that long and present an "timeout error", but it is still running in background

It seems there actually already is an issue for that. So duplicate of https://github.com/jc21/nginx-proxy-manager/issues/238.
