Current raven dependency in composer.json is "raven/raven": "0.5.*" and that library is currently at 0.8.0. Is there any way to bump up this dependency version?

It's not up to date because nobody cared to do it. If updating is BC let's do it, if it's not then please send a pull request and I'll merge it when releasing 2.0
