Recently bought the DJI mic mini to use it together with the dji osmo action 5 pro. The moment the mic connects to the camera, the audio from the mic stutters a lot and the video also stutters/lags a lot.

This does not happen if I try to stream directly from dji mimo. So I assume this has something to do with the moblin itself. I did not find someone else mentioning this issue, maybe I am missing some setting somewhere, or maybe it is a new/unknown issue so far?

For reference I use iPhone 15 Pro Max.

I agree.
I have the same problem when connecting OA4 to the built-in RTMP server (iPhone 11).
Stuttering in sound and picture with microfreezes.

What I noticed:

  1. Lowering the bitrate and resolution of the broadcast from the action camera does not affect the performance.
  2. It does not matter where the access point is located, iPhone, another Android or home network
  3. The processor load in the debug overlay shows no more than 55% during the stream
  4. The version of the application from TestFlight works similarly
  5. Streaming from the built-in camera and microphone is smooth
  6. If I stream from DJI OA4 to another rtmp server (nginx, ffmpeg), the stream goes smoothly. Even if I connect a microphone (mic mini) and even if I do this during a running broadcast

Just in case, I am attaching the log

sorry, but seems no one is interested in troubleshooting this, so likely never gonna be improved

This is a known bug with the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro. It happens whenever there is a audio change; as in whenever you add or remove the mic after the stream is started.

It works fine as long as you connect the mic before you start stream, but it would start lagging again the moment you disconnect the mic and you thus has to restart the stream from the camera.

DJI has confirmed at several occasions that they do not care to fix it.

Its a long-shot, But I have a hunch that it may be an issue with metadata the RTMP stream sends whenever the audiuo source changes, that makes the recieving end crash out, so if anyone would want to try to inspect the RTMP stream and see if there is any missing or corrupted metadata the moment the audio-source changes, if discovered, one may be able to create a patch on the receiving side.

@eerimoq @Neruell Try installing beta version of iOS 26. I installed this update and the sound stuttering disappeared. The picture also became smoother
