I'm not sure if this is feasible.
The renaming feature currently appears to only apply to the current device; I still only see the default name on my Windows PC.
This problem has really bothered me for a long time. I lent my AirPods to a friend, and ever since then, the devices have been labeled "[my friend's name]'s AirPods." Using them always feels like I'm using his stolen devices.
@kavishdevar commented on GitHub (Dec 30, 2025):
Both Linux and Android apps should be able to rename the AirPods, and that is the name that shows up on other devices too.

That didn't happen on my device. I am using the Airpods 3 Pro.
OS: HyperOS (2.0.216.0) (Android 15)
