Hi, no issue here, it's more an improvement.
I have installed koel on my server yesterday and I find it amazing! Good design, fluent, easy to configure. Really good.
Only drawback is the missing list of genres. Is it a feature to come or you don't want to integrate it because this metadata is usually too messy? I've previously done a lot of effort in keeping the genre clean for all my library, that's why ^^
Regards,

Thanks for your compliment 😃 Yeah, I believe the genres (along with other metadata) have come as a feature request before, but I feel they are more than often completely a mess, and I don't want to support it, at least for now
@paul-mesnilgrente commented on GitHub (Jul 5, 2017):
Okay you are the developper ^^ a great feature to compensate this would be the ability to save a playlist in a file ;) Just in case you are reinstalling everything from scratch. This way the genres are not needed, we just have to save them in well-organised playlists and save them.

I can confirm that metadatas and genre are a difficult thing to get right, but with tools like Musicbrainz Picard, it is doable. So i'll add my vote to a sort of "album by genre" and "tracks by genre" menus.
Koel is a wonderfull surprise for me. Very nice work on the ergonomy, even if the install requirement of Yarn is a little outside of a standard PHP server :D I would have liked to not have to install nodejs on my server.
Installation hassle aside, Koel is a great streaming tool. Thank you for the work.

Hey,
how is the status of this?
I like koel, but I would like to use Genre in Smart Playlists so much.
Any chance?
@phanan commented on GitHub (Sep 1, 2020):
I'll think about it 👍

Implemented in v6.2.0.
