I have written a guide on how to use Amazon S3 for storing your media files, you can take a look here. If somebody has anything to add or wants me to clarify something, please feel free to tell me so.
Maybe it's useful enough to add to the wiki as well.
@phanan commented on GitHub (Apr 14, 2016):
Thanks a lot. Although, in general hosting your media files on a server different than the one hosting Koel is not supported out of the box due to file system restrains. We had a discussion over this in #71.
@phanan commented on GitHub (Apr 14, 2016):
I've linked to your guide from the Wiki. Thanks!

I've come up with a package (and guide) to use Amazon S3 with Koel. Check it out: https://github.com/phanan/koel-aws.
