Hi folks,
currently koel has implemented only a basic multi-user capability, that is: Multiple users are possible, yet only one overall music library is accessible. So the only thing a new user is currently good for is having separate playlists.
I would suggest implementing the possibilty for every user to have an import path. The admin defines a base-path for the importer (for example /srv/music) and every user has a subdirectory below that (/srv/music/user1, /srv/music/user2 - according to their username).
The koel import should then import these directories to totally independent music libraries so every user can have his own library.
Maybe even sharing one user's library with another user would be possible (for example a setting "share complete library with user X" or "share playlist Y with user Z").
Cheers
Thomas

Not likely to happen anytime soon. I see Koel as an app to share your music with your, e.g., family members, and not geek friends who know what a "subdirectory" or "upload" "ftp" "import" etc... are – the latter can install Koel on their own.

Agreed with TwizzyDizzy. I found Koel looking for the ability to share playlists specifically, however, this appears to be the one component that it's missing. We can share a song, but not our curated playlists...

+1 For Playlist sharing !
Making some playlists from a huge library is a very time-consuming process.
I wish to share it my family !

Also need public or sharing playlist to make Koel a social music platform where i can share music with my friends
