Basically I finish installing all these tools for my job and when I reboot my system as the title says. If you have a workaround I'd be thrilled to know. Thanks for your hard work on all this.

I have the exact same problem, after installing all kali tools on linux mint 18.1 after reboot the screen stays blank, basicly the gui dies, any workarounds please?

Seems like there is no solution for this, but i had the same problem and after finding no solution i just reinstalled my ubuntu. have you guys found any solution ?

Even though this is fairly late, my work around was restarting the entire
gui, even then it still was poop
