Original GitHub issue: https://github.com/karakeep-app/karakeep/issues/1535

Describe the feature you'd like

  • A bit related to https://github.com/karakeep-app/karakeep/issues/1406
  • I would like to treat rss-feeds differently than manual bookmarks
  • For this feature i would like to automatically split them by using Smart Lists
  • Smart Lists afaik only allow feed:[feedname] and no wildcards/regex

Describe the benefits this would bring to existing Karakeep users

  • I want to create a list containing all bookmarks originated from a rss-feed: SmartList Query for regex: -feed:.*
  • This way i also can auto-generate filters upon tags defined by wildcard: tag:^linux.*$

This feature would drastically improve the power and flexibility to the already present features

Can the goal of this request already be achieved via other means?

No

Have you searched for an existing open/closed issue?

  • I have searched for existing issues and none cover my fundamental request

Additional context

No response

@popy2k14 commented on GitHub (Aug 8, 2025):

Want to archive the same (differentiate between normal bookmarks and imported from rss).

So on the start page, all my "normal" bookmarks should be shown and all imported rss automatically moved to an list.

I have worked around this by creating an smart rule:

  • When imported by rss
  • Add to list
  • Archive bookmark

Is there currently a better way doing this?
