Describe the Bug

It's more like a "help wanted" issue because I am not sure if it's caused by a wrong setting somewhere, but I have tried everything I could come up with, including searching on the Internet and previous issues.
Here is my problem:
My Android phone is POCO F5, and it's running Android 15 (Xiaomi HyperOS 2). My Karakeep app is from Play Store.
When I share something from other app(e.g. Chrome) to Karakeep app, it always shows the pop up below.

Image

It doesn't help if I choose "Always Allow ". I mean, it may work for some time, but after a while, if I share something again, the same pop up still shows. I guess it's when Karakeep is killed in background by OS, because when I try killing it manully, it alway reproduce.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Kill the karakeep app manually
  2. Go to chrome
  3. Share a link to Karakeep app
  4. The popup always shows.

Expected Behaviour

The popup only shows the first time. It should never show after we choose "Always allow" button.

Screenshots or Additional Context

No response

Device Details

POCO F5 Android 15 (Xiaomi HyperOS 2)

Exact Karakeep Version

Web(v0.24.1) Android app(1.6.9)

Have you checked the troubleshooting guide?

  • I have checked the troubleshooting guide and I haven't found a solution to my problem

Have you checked deep into the android settings for the app? There is usually a setting like "Open by default" where you can maybe troubleshoot things. Try long pressing on the karakeep app icon to access those settings.

Hi, Oliver, thank u for ur reply!
I tried adjusting the system's default app settings, but Karakeep doesn't seem to be there, it did not register a link or something.
Also, I tried granting every permission that Karakeep asks, but no help.

Thank u again! I managed to get into app list page as the video shows, and Karakeep is not on that list. I doubled checked that.

My guess is that either it's something very dumb you will figure out yourself or there's something very unusual about your android that makes it non standard and nobody will be able to help you here unfortunately. In the future there's a plan to add the "share" input to thr pwa so this could be an alternative.

This could also be an issue with chrome
