Describe the feature you'd like

As a user I want to hide items from appearing on the dashboard, based on their tag, so they do not appear when scrolling or in search results (e.g. "hide items with the tag 'birthday gifts'").

Tags considered hidden (or 'private') can be set on a per user basis, under the user settings.

An option to quickly toggle this functionality on/off can be set on a per user basis, under the user settings. This would allow a user to quickly revert to showing them.

Items should still show in lists (as these are curated manual collections where a user has chosen to store an item), although "hide private items in lists" could also be a user option.

Describe the benefits this would bring to existing Hoarder users

Certain items should not show when scrolling, for example, if I am bookmarking birthday presents, I do not want them easily visible on the main dashboard, to be overseen by anyone else when I open Hoarder.

Can the goal of this request already be achieved via other means?

No

I now see Archiving achieves a similar result, but that requires manual user actions. This approach automatically hides things when they get tagged by AI. Maybe this feature/option should be called "Archive items based on tag" instead.

I really like (and need) this idea! Another interesting way would be to mark a list as exclusive or something. Then, any item in that list could be hidden from the dashboard.

Regardless of how this could be implemented, I really hope this will be added to Karakeep at some point. ^^
