I've been trying to use hoarder in container manager and I am new to docker and container manager and so I've been trying to understand how to use the .env file. for other apps I've been directly typing out the environment variables into the docker compose yaml file but I do not understand how to do that with hoarder. How do I put the .env file anywhere for container manager? Sorry about the dumb question.

@kamtschatka commented on GitHub (Jan 31, 2025):

you don't have to use .env files, you can still add all the values into the docker compose file if you want.
As for help on how to use it with synology:
you are probably better off asking that in a synology related forum. ".env" files are not hoarder specific, so people who actually have a synology NAS should be able to help you right away. In the hoarder issues, there aren't a lot of people who have a synology NAS and are checking issues to help with setup issues ;-)

Thank you so much for the response! I will do just that!
