Describe the feature you'd like

On mobile, automatically switching to alternative URL would be very helpful. Currently, I pin the app to the VPN so, even when home. Immich, another app I use allows me to set an internal and an external. When it detects my wifi is connected, it uses internal. Very nice and improves performance while keeping my content "inside the bubble".

Describe the benefits this would bring to existing Karakeep users

Local access will remove external dependency on VPN, and improve speeds.

Can the goal of this request already be achieved via other means?

Not that I have found.

Have you searched for an existing open/closed issue?

I have searched for existing issues and none cover my fundamental request

This is an amazing feature that will allow me to not constantly switch the server URL when I am at home and out. Immich is a great example for the OP.
