Describe the feature you'd like

Would there be a way to keep the folder structure, either as itself or as tags when importing from a file?

Describe the benefits this would bring to existing Karakeep users

This way bookmarks from the browser would be structured the same if needed initially/to get used to the new way of searching, finding bookmarks from where they 'used to be,' etc.

Can the goal of this request already be achieved via other means?

I don't know.

Have you searched for an existing open/closed issue?

  • I have searched for existing issues and none cover my fundamental request

We already maintain the folder structure during HTML import and model it as nested lists. Is this not working for you?

Oh, it looks like everything is just in one list 'Imported Bookmarks.' Maybe I should try reimporting them?

Where are you getting your html import file from?

They are from chrome, it looks like reimporting did the trick and it kept the structure now. I'd just have to see how to go about all the duplicates. Not sure why it didn't do that the first time unless I imported before that feature was completed. Thanks!
