Describe the feature you'd like

So, smart tags are not too bad, but I find it way too restrictive, or I'm using it wrong, most likely the latter. I wish for it to catch tags like #Mac apps, but is illegal; no spaces are allowed. So I do #Mac-app, but it's less pretty. It's fine, but I wish the catch rules were a bit nicer or had some fun wildcards, as I wanted to add my #*rr stack, but #* is not allowed, so I needed to change it to specifically all rr tags.

Describe the benefits this would bring to existing Karakeep users

Allow easier ways to sort items?

Can the goal of this request already be achieved via other means?

Yea, but adding a better or more ways of doing current x item is nice...

Have you searched for an existing open/closed issue?

  • I have searched for existing issues and none cover my fundamental request

You can use spaces in tags, and the wildcard/regex idea is tracked in #1535.
